Importance of Healthy Lifestyle

The way of leading life changes over time with advent of civilization and rapid technical progress. Lifestyle changes are far too rapid and the human body at times fails to keep pace with rapid living changes. The result is rather alarming and the number of lifestyle related diseases is reaching alarming proportions.

High blood cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression and obesity are products of rapid lifestyle changes. A sedentary lifestyle, switching away from traditional diets and hooking more towards fast food and constant work pressure is churning up new diseases which otherwise could have been avoided. Therefore, what is required is a carefully planned healthy lifestyle. Exercises, healthy diet and a positive attitude towards life can work wonders. Most of the lifestyle related diseases we find are interrelated. It is like a downward spiral, one leads to the other and the chain goes on. It is pertinent to break this viscous circle. The traditional diets, folk medicine and traditional physical and breathing exercises can help us a long way in our quest to lead a healthy life.

Many have awakened to the dangers of lifestyle related ailments. Researches are producing new findings everyday. People are fast switching from junk foods to healthy food; everyone is now aware that fresh fruit juices are far more nutritious than the fuzzy drinks. Mediterranean diets have taken the world by storm. Breathing exercises and yoga have aroused new interests. Positive attitude classes are getting more attendants.

Healthy lifestyle awareness can go a long way in making life more enjoyable.

    Couldn’t agree more. Lifestyle is the only answer — everything else is just a short term fix. Fortunately I think folks are beginning to realize this.

    The problem is ‘how to change’. It’s difficult to break habits that have often been with us a lifetime.

    Just recently we made one simple business change of getting rid of high maintenance accounts that were time hogs. Our whole life changed. Suddenly we had less stress, less over time, more time to increase our business with other low maintenance accounts and more money. Its been a year and we also noticed we have more time to prepare meals and eat better and more time to exercise. Amazing what a small change can do:-)
