Diet Healthy Living

You are probably wondering how these three things can be related. With a healthy lifestyle you will be able to eat most foods in moderation, including desserts.

Let me first define diet, this should be a lifestyle choice not a fad. Eating healthier food is only one of the components of this new healthy lifestyle. Eating more fruit and vegetables will fill you up and keep you feeling full for longer. You can also lower the amount of carbs you have in your diet. This will remove a lot of Calories from your diet.

Water is excellent for the body and good health. Water helps flush out toxins and other unwanted things lingering in the body. Water also replenishes fluids that help lubricate the internal body, keeps you hydrated, reduces hunger, which helps with weight loss, and helps to make skin look smooth and young. If you are not used to drinking water, it may seem hard at first, but very quickly, you will enjoy the clean, refreshed way it makes you feel. At a minimum, you should drink 64-ounces a day and more if you can.

You should also include more exercise, it is said that including a half hour of exercise into your day will not only make you fitter but should also aid in weight loss. You would be suprised how easy it is to do this. For example, I now get off the train a mile from work, this gives me a healthy walk to a from work. Walk to the local shop, instead of driving the car. Walk the dog, you know they will love you for it. Don’t take the lift, walk a few flights of stairs.

Having a healthy lifestyle

means living a balanced life and finding joy in your intellectual, physical and spiritual well being.  Many people developed a host of unhealthy habits that are useful for coping with the stresses of everyday life.  It’s very important to leave bad habits behind. It takes a long time to get to that goal. Try to practice your new healthy habits for about 3 months. If you do, you’ll be living a much healthier, satisfying life. Quitting smoking is the easiest and fastest way to improve your health. The sooner you quit, the longer you’ll live. Also it is very important to eat well to stay well.

The nutrition, especially a diet high in saturated fat, red meat, dairy products, and junk food can lead to cardiovascular disease, the number one killer of men. You should cut down on many fatty foods, avoid eating large amounts of junk food and eat more fruits and vegetables. A nutritious diet is based on generous amounts of filling, energy-rich food such as bread, pasta and rice and plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. For protein choose lean meat, fish, legumes, and low fat dairy products. Avoid butter, and stick to moderate amounts of low-fat versions of milk, yogurt, cheese and ice cream. Choose olive oil or granola and low-fat, oil based products such as margarine instead of butter.

A Guide to Living a Healthy Vegetarian or Vegan Lifestyle

A healthy vegetarian diet consists primarily of plant-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seed. Because the emphasis is on non-meat food sources, a vegetarian diet generally contains less fat and cholesterol, and typically includes more fiber. On the flip side vegetarians don’t generally eat some necessary vitamins and minerals that are found in animal products. To understand this you much first understand the types of vegetarians.

Most Vegetarians fall into groups defined by the types of animal-derived foods they typically eat:

Vegans are the strictest of the vegetarians and really are Vegans, which is a sub group of vegetarians. A vegan is a vegetarians but a vegetarian is not always a vegan. What vegans do is eliminate all foods from animals, including meat, poultry, fish, milk, eggs and cheese. Some vegans don’t eat honey because it is derived from and animal. So pretty much they eat only plant-based foods. I am an on and off again vegan, I find the lifestyle choice to be purifying but often my body craves milk derived products my guess is for the vitamin b12 and calcium. It is very important for vegans to supplement their diets with supplements.
