Live Good Life

A Well-Balanced Living Lifestyle

Diet Healthy Living

August 19, 2008

You are probably wondering how these three things can be related. With a healthy lifestyle you will be able to eat most foods in moderation, including desserts.

Let me first define diet, this should be a lifestyle choice not a fad. Eating healthier food is only one of the components of this new healthy lifestyle. Eating more fruit and vegetables will fill you up and keep you feeling full for longer. You can also lower the amount of carbs you have in your diet. This will remove a lot of Calories from your diet.

Water is excellent for the body and good health. Water helps flush out toxins and other unwanted things lingering in the body. Water also replenishes fluids that help lubricate the internal body, keeps you hydrated, reduces hunger, which helps with weight loss, and helps to make skin look smooth and young. If you are not used to drinking water, it may seem hard at first, but very quickly, you will enjoy the clean, refreshed way it makes you feel. At a minimum, you should drink 64-ounces a day and more if you can.

You should also include more exercise, it is said that including a half hour of exercise into your day will not only make you fitter but should also aid in weight loss. You would be suprised how easy it is to do this. For example, I now get off the train a mile from work, this gives me a healthy walk to a from work. Walk to the local shop, instead of driving the car. Walk the dog, you know they will love you for it. Don’t take the lift, walk a few flights of stairs.

And the most important fact of all, remember there is no silver bullet for weight loss. Getting yourself to a healthy, sustainable weight will take time. Some fad diets will allow you to drop weight quickly, but as they are not sustainable you will gain back the weight you initially lost and more.

Remember the basic rules:

  1. Eat fresh food
  2. Don’t overeat
  3. Drink two litres of water a day
  4. Exercise four to five times a week
  5. Take antioxidants and Vitamin C supplements
  6. Avoid processed foods
