Six Tips to Help You Simplify Your Life

1. Make a List of Five Things Most Important to You
We can’t achieve our goals if we don’t occasionally take stock of what they are. Do you dream of writing a novel or traveling abroad? Do you wish you had more time for your family, your faith, or your hobby? The simple act of reflection can create unexpected insights and opportunities toward getting what matters most.

2. Tune Out, Tune In
Just because you have a cell phone and a computer doesn’t mean you need to have them on all the time. Even short breaks from the demands of your gadgets can shift your perspective dramatically. Take a walk, meditate, read, or reflect on your day just before you fall asleep.

3. Spend Time, Not Money
Anyone can pick out an expensive present from a catalog. But a humble phone call, picnic, evening of board games, or other fun activity will create memories that last longer than a credit card purchase (and won’t come back to haunt you with compounded finance charges).

Look Younger With Healthy Eating Tips

January 1, 2008

If you are looking for tips to look younger, this tips could help find your exit.

If you think that cutting off all the fat from your diet is going to make you look better, think again.

A move like that could age you faster instead. Your skin and hair needs fat in order to stay healthy. Radiant skin, healthy skin that glows from within is impossible if you do not eat enough fat in your diet. Strong, beautiful, healthy hair is impossible if you totally eliminate fat from your diet.

The crux of the matter is this. You need to eat fat in order to have healthy skin and hair. Healthy skin and healthy hair is beautiful.

The fat I’m talking about isn’t the unhealthy, cholesterol-ridden fats you find around your steak or your bacon or the butter you might spread on your bread. I’m talking about healthy fats. The sort you would find in nuts and seeds, in cold pressed vegetable oils like olive oil and in olive fish like salmon, mackerel and sardines.

5 Ways You Can Create A Healthy Lifestyle For Kids

December 10, 2007

healthy living childrenKids should be encouraged to lead healthy lifestyles from a very young age. Healthy habits that are inculcated in childhood are most likely to stay with a child right through life. Children see what they learn. Getting the whole family involved is one of the best ways to create healthy lifestyles for your kids.

Make healthy food choices

Make it a habit to eat three healthy meals a day with a focus on increasing intake of vegetables, fruits, proteins and carbohydrates. Keep healthy snacks around for those in-between times when kids get hungry.

Encourage physical activity

Exercise is an important part of the growing years (and any lifestyle, for that matter). Kids need at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day to stay fit and healthy and to prevent obesity. Replace your child’s sedentary activities such as watching TV and playing computer games with activities that are more vigorous. Make outdoor activities part of your lifestyle - a family tradition.

Lifestyle Living

With a little Information, make simple changes, turn off the TV and you’ll be surprised to discover simplicity is easy. Tips for money and time management.

In this age of dot com billionaires and unstoppable consumerism it’s time we ask, “When is enough ENOUGH!” By most measures, Americans consume a disproportionate amount of the world’s resources or control a disproportionate share of the world’s wealth. This is not a cause for unhealthy guilt but it can challenge each one of us to to ask whether or not there are any limits to their wants and desires. But how can we chart a course toward a simpler existence?

Start by recognizing that there is an opportunity to simplify your life. Become informed. Behavior change is easier when there is a meaningful context that surrounds it. For instance, many smokers who have been unable to quit finally leave cigarettes forever when they are diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly quitting smoking means something to them.

Begin with small choices that foster simplicity. Ask yourself, “Do I need that article of clothing, that book, that new gadget?” How we answer these small questions reflects our general attitude.
