The Meaning of Living A Healthy Lifestyle

September 5, 2008

Why today we talk about healthy living so much and what really meaning of the living healthy lifestyle?

Living a healthy lifestyle is not only about avoiding fatty foods, cutting down on caffeine and taking up an expensive gym membership. Health is not solely about the size of your body; it’s about being happy within yourself, avoiding detrimental situations and substances and taking care of yourself as a whole. Ideally it would be a life long commitment but everyone knows that temptation is inevitable and if being healthy means being bored and deprived, then it’ll all go pear-shaped quickly.

So, what to avoid and what to embrace are key questions. Fundamentally, it should be obvious. Everything in moderation is the best way to look at it. Yes, you can enjoy the pork ribs, just not three times a week! You can party till the wee hours of the morning on Friday night and aim for more restorative activities Saturday night. Living a healthy lifestyle is about balance. You know what’s good for you but you want what feels good to you.

10 Quick and Easy Beauty Tips for the Frequent Flyer

July 1, 2008

Getting to and from the airport can be a daunting task. The last thing a woman wants to worry about is the way she looks upon arrival. While airline restrictions have severely limited the types of products a woman can carry on board a plane, there are some very simple things you can do to make sure you are looking your best when you step off the plane at the end of your journey!

  1. Pull your hair back and tie it in a scarf. Scarves are not only stylish, but you won’t walk off the place sporting a matted plane-seat look.
  2. Carry a small container of dry hair powder. It will keep your hair from becoming oily or greasy.
  3. Apply some leave-in hair conditioner before tying your hair in a scarf. Your hair will receive a soothing conditioning treatment while you’re in flight.
  4. Always carry a comb and brush for a quick fix.
  5. Invest in hair shine paper and use it before getting off of the plane.
  6. Purchase some pre-moistened eye pads (I love cucumber) and use them during your flight to relax and pamper your tired eyes.
  7. Pack a small container of pre-moistened makeup remover cloths. They double as facial cleansers and makeup remover pads, meaning you can pack less.
  8. Bring a caked mascara product. It’s easier to carry around without worrying about spillage and you won’t have to include it in your very small bag of allowable liquid carry on products.
  9. Carry a makeup concealer stick. They work not only for blemishes, but for hiding the circles you’re sure to have under your eyes due to a lack of sleep on the plane.
  10. Fly by the pharmacy on your way to the airport and pick up a stick of pure cocoa butter and a pair of hand gloves. Use the cocoa butter to treat your hands to a mini-spa treatment while you’re in flight.

Living a Healthy Lifestyle Using Herbal Methods for Dieting.
Much speculation and scrutiny has arisen from the theory of herbal healing. However, herbal remedies offer solutions
that can be more effective, in addition to being a safer alternative than many of today’s modern medicines. Herbs can be used to heal many things that an individual may encounter, such as the common cold, acne treatment, hemorrhoids, and even panic attacks. However, one of the most important solutions that can be attributed to herbal treatment is losing weight and consequently living a healthier lifestyle.

When an individual accumulates a large amount of body fat, a significant amount of stress is put on their body. Losing weight in a healthy manor lowers the amount of stress on the human body. In addition, the likelihood of complications such as hypertension, arthritis, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are lowered with weight loss.

Guide to Zen Living: 10 Quick Ways to Zen Living Lifestyle

January 19, 2008

If you are interesting zen life, don’t forget read this 10 tips.

1. one thing at a time

Multitasking is impossible. Watch yourself when you attempt it. What you are actually doing is turning your attention from one thing to another, to another, rapidly. And, because changing your focus takes energy, nothing gets your full attention.

Experiment: watch your favourite tv show and have a conversation at the same time.

Zen living: Do one thing at a time. Full focus, to a pre-determined point of completion. Big projects require that you break them into bite-sized pieces, and finish a segment. Then shift attention. For most things, ‘chop wood, carry water.’ Do the task at hand with full attention.

2. speak for yourself

The only authentic pronoun is ‘I.’ All I can reliably talk about is what I am thinking, feeling, and doing.

Example: think about something you might consider a ‘we’ thing. “We’re going to play ball.” Well, maybe a bunch of people are each, individually, playing ball, but there is no ‘we,’ period. Nor can you say anything reliably about another person. “I know what you are thinking,” is impossible. I only, at best, am aware that I think I know what you are thinking.

Zen living: Speak only for yourself, by using “I think…”, “I imagine…”, “The story I’m telling myself…”, etc. Own your experience, and share it, as it’s all you can ever know.
